Jerry Berta - Mixed Media

Juror for Spring 2010 Show

"I make sculptures of American Roadside Attractions. You are traveling down a highway, you see a beautiful diner, you stop your car, you go inside. The detailed interiors in my sculptures draw the viewer in, just like in real life. The sculptures of theatres are complete with a DVD player that plays the money the movie in perfect scale."

Jerry Berta has exhibited widely on a national level through galleries and art fairs, including the prestigious Washington Craft Show at the Smithsonian to the Sausalito Art Festival in California. He has been published on the cover of Ceramics Monthly magazine, on the back cover of The Eccentric Teapot, among other periodicals and newspapers, His current museum collections and exhibitions include the Racine Art Museum, Racine, Il., and The Shigaraki Ceramic Muesum, Japan.
